Schloss Lindenau is a Renaissance château located in the town of Lindenau, within the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district of Brandenburg, Germany. Recognized as an architectural heritage monument, the château's origins date back to around 1200 when defensive structures were established at the confluence of the Pulsnitz and Schwarze Elster rivers. In 1584, Loth Gotthard von Minckwitz expanded the existing structure into a two-story rectangular building with Renaissance features, known as a "Festen Haus." A tower was added in 1609, giving the château a fortified appearance due to local unrest. Further renovations occurred in 1783 and 1920, including the addition of Baroque influences. The château is constructed from field stone and brick, featuring a two-story main building with a tower and later additions such as a southern annex and a northern kitchen wing with a three-story tower. Currently, Schloss Lindenau is maintained and open to visitors, preserving its historical significance and architectural integrity. It is listed as a protected monument by Brandenburg's Landesamt für Denkmalpflege und Archäologisches Landesmuseum. The château was originally built by the von Minckwitz family and later renovated by the Lynar family, who resided there from 1833.
