Schloss Drebkau is a historic castle located in the city of Drebkau, within the Landkreis Spree-Neiße district in Brandenburg, Germany. Originally mentioned in 1301 as "castrum et opidum Trebetz," it was initially built as a fortress. In the 14th century, the lords of Ileburg constructed a new fortified house, which later came into the possession of the Köckritz family, known for their activities as robber knights. Around 1700, Joachim Erdmann von Köckritz demolished the old structure and built the current castle. The castle has undergone several renovations, including the addition of an Italian-style house and a quadrangular tower in the 19th century. It is listed as an architectural heritage monument in Brandenburg's Denkmalliste. After World War II, the castle was used for worker housing and later became part of the Brandenburg mining sector. In 1996, the city of Drebkau acquired the castle, and restoration efforts began in 2000. The castle is currently undergoing further renovations, with plans to use it as the seat of the local administration. The site includes several additional buildings, such as stables, and holds cultural significance as a protected monument. Visitors can explore its historical architecture and surrounding park.
