The Gibraltar national cricket team is the official team representing the British overseas territory of Gibraltar in international cricket. Gibraltar has been an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1969, competing in the ICC’s Europe region. With approximately 34,000 residents, Gibraltar has one of the smallest populations of any ICC member. Gibraltar played in the ICC Trophy, later replaced by the ICC World Cup Qualifier, from 1982 to 2001, with limited success. The team has appeared six times in ICC World Cup Qualifier (ICC Trophy) tournaments, with its best performances including reaching the plate competition in 1990 and other first‑round finishes. After the creation of the World Cricket League, Gibraltar was placed in Division Seven in 2009 and was subsequently relegated to Division Eight in 2010, after which further poor results saw the team drop back to regional qualifying tournaments. Regionally, Gibraltar has played in the top flight of the European Cricket Championship on four occasions, finishing sixth out of eight teams at the 1996 tournament in Denmark. The team has also taken part in various Twenty20 International competitions, including the Iberia Cup and other European T20I series.
