Sacarello's, formally P. Sacarello Limited, was a private family coffee roasting business and coffee shop restaurant in Gibraltar. Founded as B. Sacarello Limited in 1888 by Bartholomew Sacarello, it operated from a merchant house at 57 Irish Town, on the corner of Tuckey's Lane, serving Gibraltar and Spain.
P. Sacarello Limited, better known as Sacarello's, was a privately held family company in Gibraltar active in coffee roasting, coffee shop and restaurant services, and wholesale. The business was founded as B. Sacarello Limited in 1888 by Bartholomew “Bartolo” Sacarello, a provisions merchant. Over time, coffee became an increasingly profitable part of the enterprise. Sacarello's produced products such as Sacarello Coffee and La Negrita and served areas including Gibraltar and Spain. In 1906 Bartolo purchased a merchant house on the corner of Irish Town and Tuckey’s Lane in Gibraltar, designed by Italian architect Giovanni Maria Boschetti. This building, at 57 Irish Town, became closely associated with the firm and, until 2024, housed the Sacarello's coffee shop. The company remained a family business, with key people including Patrick Sacarello, responsible for the coffee shop and restaurant, and Richard Sacarello, overseeing wholesale and distribution. Sacarello's history is linked to the wider Sacarello family story, originating from Italy and later establishing itself in Gibraltar, where the firm traded for over 125 years. The company maintained a presence in both retail hospitality and wholesale coffee distribution within and beyond Gibraltar.
