Schloss Neuhaus, also known as Gut Neuhaus, is a historic manor house located in Steinkirchen, part of the municipality of Lübben in the Dahme-Spreewald district of Brandenburg, Germany. Constructed in 1801 in the Biedermeier style, the building is a one-story structure with a high basement and features a central octagonal cupola hall with a flat dome ceiling. The manor's façade includes a central risalit and side risalits, with a portico on the garden side and a balcony on the courtyard side. The architect remains unknown, though possibly a student of Friedrich Gilly. From 1822 to 1845, the poet and reformer Christoph Ernst von Houwald owned the manor, transforming it into a cultural hub frequented by notable figures such as Bettina and Achim von Arnim and Emanuel Geibel. After Houwald's death, the property changed hands several times, serving various purposes, including housing refugees and functioning as a children's home post-World War II. Following significant deterioration, the manor underwent extensive restoration after the political changes in 1989, culminating in its official reopening in 1996. Today, Schloss Neuhaus houses the Kreismusikschule Dahme-Spreewald, a regional music school, and hosts concerts and exhibitions, preserving its cultural significance.
