Castle Dahme is a historic castle ruin located in Dahme/Mark, within the Landkreis Teltow-Fläming in Brandenburg, Germany. Originally constructed between 1713 and 1714 under the direction of Johann Christoph Schütze, it served as a representative secondary residence for the Dukes of Saxony-Weissenfels. The castle was built on the site of an older structure, incorporating its elements into the new Baroque design. Situated northeast of the old town, the castle is surrounded by a park and bounded by streets such as Nordhag and Geschwister-Scholl-Straße. Historically, Dahme was first mentioned in 1186 as a center of a Burgherrschaft expanded by Erzbischof Wichmann von Seeburg. Its strategic location along the Salzstraße to Silesia and near a ford on the Dahme River made it a significant site. Over the centuries, the castle underwent various ownership changes and renovations. In the 19th century, it was used as a museum and school. Although it was not damaged during World War II, subsequent neglect led to its deterioration. Today, Castle Dahme is recognized as an architectural heritage monument in Brandenburg, offering visitors a glimpse into its historical significance despite its largely ruined state.
