Schloss Golßen is a classical manor house located in the town of Golßen, within the Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg, Germany. Constructed around 1720 for Johann Justus Vieth, a Prussian War and Domain Councilor, the manor exemplifies classicist architecture. Originally a long rectangular putzbau structure, it underwent significant renovations in the mid-19th century, including the addition of four-axial side wings designed by architect Eduard Knoblauch. The estate is surrounded by a landscaped park, created around 1880 by Eduard Petzold, featuring rare tree species, a man-made pond, and a Fontana monument dedicated to Countess Amalie Sophie Henriette von Fontana. The park was restored in 2010. The entire complex, including the manor house, park, ice cellar, and additional structures like inspector's houses and stables, is listed as a cultural heritage monument in Brandenburg’s Denkmalliste. Over the years, the manor has served various functions, including as a land ambulance facility, kindergarten, and library. Currently, a local citizens' initiative is working to preserve and revitalize Schloss Golßen, organizing events and fundraising efforts to maintain its historical significance and promote community engagement.
