The Luckaitztaler Ziegelturm is an observation tower located in Weißag, part of the municipality of Luckaitztal in the Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Brandenburg, Germany. Inaugurated in June 2020, it replaced the earlier Calauer Schweiz observation tower, which was demolished in 2014 due to structural damage. The new tower stands at a height of 43.2 meters, with an observation platform accessible at 38 meters, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Calauer Schweiz region and beyond. Constructed between September 2018 and April 2020, the project cost approximately €720,000, funded by the municipality of Luckaitztal and supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Designed by architect Axel Braun from Suderburg, the tower features brick masonry and reinforced concrete, utilizing 93,850 bricks produced at the nearby Klinkerwerk Buchwäldchen. Visitors can climb 216 steps to reach the observation deck, which provides views of landmarks such as Calau's city church and the Jänschwalde power plant. The tower is part of the Naturpark Niederlausitzer Landrücken, offering opportunities for exploration and leisure in this protected natural environment. It is open to the public with varying hours depending on the season.
