Description

Skhul cave is an archaeological site in Israel, located in the Carmel mountain range. It's part of the Nahal Me'arot Nature Reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site contains human fossils dating back 200,000 to 45,000 years, including remains of modern humans and Neanderthals. Excavations were conducted in 1928 and 1932 by Theodore McCown.
